That specific user you are using to log into through the FTP client doesn't have proper permission to view that file.
Try running

sudo ls -la
Then copy and paste the output here

Try looking into Nginx error to see what's actually timing out.

I am not on Debian, but could you check if the inodes of that directory is full. df -i This should show the inodes, and if it is used up. or perhaps, the problem could also be that the directory is full, install ncdu sudo apt install ncdu and then run it ncdu This would pinpoint if the actual catego...
