I just tried running this on Centos 6.4 64bit, and unfortunately it does not fix the errors. Ok i found an answer. Just simply rename exim.conf to something else. After that, phpmail will not work.

Also, if you arent already, i highly recommend that you use SSH keys to make your server 100% safe from brute-force attacks. If i were you i would email VestaCP guys and give them access to the server temporarily for investigation to see what really happened.
Im sure they'd also like to know what is going on here.
