Re: customize backup script
Don't need any user directories or vesta Specific Configuration backup. So much wasted space? Remember, about restore too... if custome backup, then you need custom restore ;-( Yes no problems... I can always restore manually from the tarballs... vestaCP doesn't restore backups well for me either w...

Re: You can install vestacp in ubuntu 16.04?
If you guyz much care about LTS releases, I bet Debian is a much better/safer/stable option. Vesta Works great on latest Debian 8.5 Jessie... a server you can configure, secure and then forget about!

Exactly... it would be a disaster for securityXoXiLhJ0mn wrote:Further, a global redirect for all users could be problematic because each user should have their own certificate, unless you wanna have a default certificate issued.

customize backup script
Hi,
Can anyone help me customize or create a new Backup script that only:
1. Backs up domain/public_html/ from $user/web directory recursively
2. The Databases
and create a tarball of it
Don't need any user directories or vesta Specific Configuration backup.

Re: Hosting Email server
HA and Performance is one side of it, the major side of Email Hosting to ensure is 1) Mail Deliverability and Inboxing to recipient 2) Manage incoming SPAM efficiently Unless you master both of these, you will repent the very day and decision of hosting your own Mail server. v-backup-users doesn't backup OTHER USERS ?
Doesn't the command /usr/local/vesta/bin/v-backup-users backup OTHER USERS ?
on my Debian server it doesn't -- only tar's I have in /backup is adminxxx only and not for the other users. Do I need to setup a separate cron for them ?

Re: SSH Hardening
VestaCP has nothing to do with this... and works fine with SSH Keys. Infact you should always use them with any server that you maintain, and disable root login.
