Exclude a directory from backup.

Post by Trentor » Thu Aug 20, 2015 3:24 pm

Hello,

I want to use the backup option from the panel, but I need to exclude a massive directory (around 100GB of music that I have already backed up).

The path is:

Code: Select all

/home/admin/music
Being music the folder to exclude.

How I have to put this exclusion in the panel?

I am trying a number of diferent options like /home/admin/music - /music - /admin/music, etc. but it's not working and the folder is included in the backup.

Thanks!!

It's user directory you want to exclude. In your control panel -> backup -> backup exclusion -> press "cogwheel" to configure and go to "User Directories" section. There you can add name of directory music for example and save it.

Hello!
How i can exclude user subdirectory?
I'll add to user directories exclude

Code: Select all

gitlab-satellites
gitlab-shell
tmp
gitlab/tmp
gitlab/vendor
and not have a problem with top-level directories, but subdirectories are backuped.

In backup report:

Code: Select all

-- User Dir --
2015-11-24 10:15:04 excluding directory gitlab-satellites
2015-11-24 10:15:04 excluding directory gitlab-shell
2015-11-24 10:15:04 excluding directory tmp
2015-11-24 10:15:04 excluding directory gitlab:vendor
2015-11-24 10:15:04 excluding directory gitlab:tmp
2015-11-24 10:15:04 adding .bash_history
2015-11-24 10:15:04 adding .bash_logout
2015-11-24 10:15:04 adding .bash_profile
2015-11-24 10:15:04 adding .bashrc
2015-11-24 10:15:04 adding gitlab
2015-11-24 10:16:15 adding .mc
2015-11-24 10:16:15 adding .pki
2015-11-24 10:16:15 adding repositories
2015-11-24 10:16:23 adding .ssh
2015-11-24 10:16:23 *** 9 directories ***
How i can fix this? Thank you.
