Vestacp - Web Domain ERROR
Vestacp - Web Domain ERROR
Hi,
I used to 'Add Web domain' WITHOUT an extension and it was working fine till upgrade to vesta 0.9.8
Now I cannot change, or add new aliases.
When i hit 'Save', the Vestacp gives the following error:
Error: invalid domain format :: domain
I guess because the web domain has NO extension so wrong validation.
Please help to to rectify this problem.

Re: Vestacp - Web Domain ERROR
why would you need to host a domain without an extension TLD ? It is fundamentally wrong to "accept" a non-FQDN.
If you are on an internal test environment, you can host any FQDN and create a HOSTS file entry with that domain name to point it correctly.

Re: Vestacp - Web Domain ERROR
Support domains without fqdn will return in .17 release.
We made not so strong checking now.
I know it's not very good add all domains and not very good to ignore RFC, but we have users who have VestaCP in local-network or use domains like this in testing purpose.

Re: Vestacp - Web Domain ERROR
Maybe i didn't explain myself clearly:
My current Vestcp settings :
Under Web tab...
Domain: xyz (without extension)
IP address: 122.122.122.123
Aliases: sowmx.com, zomg.com, samples234.com
Everything works fine until I want to amend or add new Aliases then I get the following error... Error: invalid domain format :: domain
Moving forward how can rectify this problem so i can add/amend of Aliases as I am using Wordpress multisite environment to host different sites in one installation.
I have tried to set up proper xyz.com in Vestcp and moved all the files from old public_html folder to new one, then changed contents of
/usr/local/vesta/data/users/admin/web.conf
/home/admin/conf/web/httpd.conf
/home/admin/conf/web/nginx.conf
but no luck!
Any help on this is appreciated.

Re: Vestacp - Web Domain ERROR
I tested this case in dev server and don't see any problem.
I think new realese will help with your problem.

Re: Vestacp - Web Domain ERROR
Why not just edit your nginx and apache confs and manually add the aliases there ?vth wrote:i am really need to add extra aliases for customers to current domain.
