This has been my problem always too.
I think the RESTORE feature needs to be checked extensively across multiple Distro's to ensure it works. Backup's from my servers never restore on other servers. Debian 7 to debian 8 even

What if you migrate to a server with another IP (same hostname).
The dns will still link to the other server, can you just rebuild the DNS?

MMM if u have 30 websites, how can i change all the DNS after migration with the new ip adress??
I clicked in user "rebuild DNS" but doesnt work and change the DNS manually its a.... headache

re-read IP and rebuild Web / DNS/ Mail would automatically check for the changed IP and make the updates... it is for that purpose only
