Restore Does Not Create the Domains
Restore Does Not Create the Domains
Hello,
I am trying to migrate from one server to another, by creating a backup on the original server, moving it to the destination and restoring it over there.
During the creation of the backup, I can see the list of domains which are included without any issues. After the backup file is transfered, I can untar and see the domains listed there. The size is quite big as well. However, when restoring, the restored domain is only with the hostname of the destination server. The rest of the domains are not restored/created. I triple-checked the backup file and it contains the domains. I am not sure why it is not restoring them.
As I said, the process is starting, it reports that only one domain, database, etc are created and it is with the hostname as a name, which I don't even have in the source/original server.
I am using "v-backup-user <user>" and "v-restore-user <user> <backup.file>". No errors are reported. The usernames are the same on both servers (admin). The destination is brand new clean server without any configuration. Just clean install of VestCP.
Can you please advise as to what I might be doing wrong or how to troubleshoot it?

Re: Restore Does Not Create the Domains
The issue seemed to be a difference between the VestaCP versions of Source and Destination.

Re: Restore Does Not Create the Domains
This is something I could never get done - even when I am restoring backup between identically Setup Servers.
WAs never able to find out the reason... I guess this is surely an are the great VestaCP team needs to look upon.
Stable and reliable Restore of Backup sets is a very very important thing
