Hi,

I find this "problem":

When i setup manually "/home/username/conf/dns" example.com.db file and save it, settings wont update in to the vesta system > DNS > "list records".

Template: child-ns

Hello everyone,

I know this thread is over a year old but I have the exact same question and I can't find an answer anywhere.

I prefer to edit my DNS zone records directly through the CLI. If I edit my DNS zone files the changes do not reflect on the VestaCP web interface.

For example:

I edit

Code: Select all

/home/username/conf/dns/example.com.db
Is there a way to force Vesta to refresh its DNS config from the filesystem?

Vesta stores it's config into /usr/local/vesta/data/users/<username>/dns catalogue. It's the place for the files of zones. They are refreshed when you change the DNS settings via the web console of Vesta or with the help of the Vesta's CLI.
It is the source for the named zones. So if you edited the named zone, of course, the vesta config's are not changed and sometime after you changes will be overwritten by the panel.

This topic does not answers the question on how to make the changes made in that files adopted by the named.
