This is very handy indeed! But you have to be careful with security! Mysql connections open for everyone may lead to brute force attacks or other attacks. Maybe add firewall rules.

i dont think so brother , how the hell can you brute attack if this server in begind a router and firewall .tjebbeke wrote:This is very handy indeed! But you have to be careful with security! this connection is high secure nobody can enter this connection.
second its a local connection true 127.0.0.1 on the host of that computer. and begind the firewall and router.
if you do remote controll on a static ip of that domain then we talk about something else.
but like i see here in that forum how many people have problems with only contact to there server local remote , how will you attack my server than haha...
brute force attack on remote control local is inpossible

Re: remote controll mysql for vestacp works perfect
If everything is running locally then you are right. But when you connect to your remote server it's not. If I lookup on one of your domains, the mysql port is open. So an attack is possible. But the tool you are referencing is useful, i have use it before.
Re: remote controll mysql for vestacp works perfect
You can tell more to other users about bind address in mysql config to _remote_ control.mach wrote: is a powerfull tool to connect your databases (tested to the full ,i see no problems in vestacp mysql)
Re: remote controll mysql for vestacp works perfect
bind adress
the bind adress for that domain or subdomain is allways for remote control the name of that database.
if your mydomain.com database name is zpadmin (that is the database for connection)
the workbenche mysql wil ask for this database password (that is the password that you have make for that database on vestacp.
so if the databases of mydomain.com is zpadmin and password is 1234 , that is what you need for connection remote.
however this is remote local.
if you run remote from another place that is something else you have to bind your domain in the script of phpmyadmin two.
normal the local on phpmyadmin is always localhost (however) you can use the servers two for contacting remote.
sv1.mydomain.com , than you phpmyadmin is bind to this adress only and not localhost(working domain adress is not local anymore) you can have multi mysqlserver that only works on domains and not localhost.
so if you wanna contact mysql remote from other place that is the adress you need for that server.
so in a workbench from another place your contact adres is not longer localhost but sv1mydomain.com .
that is how mysl remote controll works , if you servers are in usa ,and you are from belgium , you can never contact from a workbenche to localhost that is impossible . allot of server have for there mysql servers names like sv1.mysqldomain.com sv2.mysql.domain.com and ect , if your databases is on that server you only install the software on linux and you can contact your dadabases from that software easy.

Re: remote controll mysql for vestacp works perfect
i will put a working mysql 1 and 2 online a demo. how it works , let say your databases is on sv1.vestacp.com ok...mach wrote:bind adress

login and you will see your databases , however login with the same user and password on sv2.vestacp.com and you will see your databases not if you are not on that server , this can you handle in phpmyadmin and mysql to bind adress to domains and not localhost.
this is how hosting company's normal use mysql.

Re: remote controll mysql for vestacp works perfect
I don't understand you I think mach. You don't have to change anything to control you MySQL remotely? Just user your domain name or IP address?
Re: remote controll mysql for vestacp works perfect
than you can never control your remote sqlserver my good man , the sqlserver is running local how the hell will you contact it from a nother country if you not bind to the domain if its running localhost that is ipossible.tjebbeke wrote:I don't understand you I think mach. you can contact and upload your sql from another country to the domain my-phpmyadmin.org and change it on localhost that is true but contact remote with a workbenche for that of your domain that is impossible if the mysql is on localhost and vestacp mysql is on localhost so you can not contact it.
i think you dont understand local and internet (you can upload a sql on a domain server thats all)
inside let say phpmyadmin is on 100% localhost ,what if i say mine is not and i run 5 phpmyadmins and not on localhost but on server mysql1 , 2 , 3 , 4 , and 5 than you can remote but not localhost i like to see that...
the only thing you remote is local nothing more.
how the hell wil you remote a sql server like a databases in phpmyadmin if its running on localhost tell me how.
fist of all you have to change the setting in phpmyadmin to real domainserver dummy.. and not localhost , you can upload if there is some phpmyadmin is running on a local server for the outside but not for remote your mysql that is impossible.
this must fist be change
