Mysql database in other machine

Hello,
I have a following situation:
Machine 1 for nginx, DNS Bind, PHP an Rails support. (Acess with port 80 or 443)
Machine 2 a have only for mysql (MariaDB) (Access with Private IP"local IP", without external access, only with machine 1, for security)
In this case, I have install the VESTA on machine 1 and connect mysql on machine 2 for users an DATA store. This is possible?
