Unable to send outgoing emails but can recieve incoming emails, Port 25 is NOT blocked
Unable to send outgoing emails but can recieve incoming emails, Port 25 is NOT blocked
I need assistance, I have vestacp installed on a linux centos 6 system. After upgrading from vestacp Version 0.9.8-14 to Version 0.9.8-15, I am now unable to send outgoing emails, although I can receive incoming emails fine. And Yes, my port 25 is NOT blocked. And yes the outgoing email worked fine with Version 0.9.8-14. So I uninstalled and deleted my vestacp installation and started a fresh installation with Version 0.9.8-15. But still I cannot send out going emails. It gives me an error message saying the sent message could not be sent after 24hrs and will try again in 48hrs.
Can some one help out?

Hello can you check your clamv log ?
Do you see a line like this:
ERROR: Can't connect to clamd: No such file ... ERROR: Can't unlink the socket file unix:/var/run/clamav/clamd.sock
Log file location is:
/var/log/clamav/clamd.log

Re: Unable to send outgoing emails but can recieve incoming emails, Port 25 is NOT blocked
No I do not have any such error. I re-installed a clean copy of vestacp again and tried sending out going email. Outgoing does not work, but incoming email works. here is a copy of my email account details. Note that vestacp installed using port 587 not port 25:

Re: Unable to send outgoing emails but can recieve incoming emails, Port 25 is NOT blocked
Yes
try this:
mkdir /var/run/clamav
then
chown mysql:mysql /var/run/clamav
then try again to e=mail.
NOTE: I believe this is a bug in the latest vesta build because i've also experienced the same thing lol. Also when you reboot that folder will disappear you have to create it again.

Re: Unable to send outgoing emails but can recieve incoming emails, Port 25 is NOT blocked
I tries your suggestion it did not work. I also suspect that the bug is in vestacp version 0.9.8 -15. I will try and re-install vestacp without clamav and see what happens. If that does not work I will re-install without spamassasin and have only exim and dovecot and see if it works. I noticed that vestacp have a roadmap of a newer version coming by end of febuary 2016. hopefully this buy will not be there.. I will let you know the results of instaaltion without clamav

You are not on Google Cloud Compute correct?
