Installing Previous VestaCP versions
Installing Previous VestaCP versions
Hi, I read through some post it's not possible to install previous versions of VestaCP. I was wondering the reason behind this? This new VestaCP install seems to have bugs. I'd like options and availability to go back to older versions. I hope to get a better answer then its not possible. Thanks in advance!
Re: Installing Previous VestaCP versions
@XoXiLhJ0mn, thanks for your reply below... I agree with you that new versions as old ones will have bugs. My comment for making available older code wasn't to expect the older code wouldn't have vulnerabilities. However, a new code may have some bugs that some people just may not want to use. Each can make their decision to stay with new code or revert. It's just an option. The VestaCP site just has NO info (or at least easily visible) to users about being able to get the older code. Every code release should have references to release notes and any issues so people can make decisions which ones to go with. Appreciate your feedback!
Re: Installing Previous VestaCP versions
@XoXiLhJ0mn, btw, where is the link to github to see and download older code. I did a search and found this link:
https://github.com/serghey-rodin/vesta
Browsing the link I don't list of older code. Also, using the install script curl -O http://vestacp.com/pub/vst-install.sh
would be nice to add/show the version being installed. No complaints just making suggestions. Please help provide the link to older vestacp code and make that visible for users on vestacp site...

Re: Installing Previous VestaCP versions
on 06. july they updated Vesta repo with new fixes for important bugs, so ''updated v16'' code is now stable, no fatal bugs...
you can reinstall vesta, to get new fixes...

Re: Installing Previous VestaCP versions
@dpeca, thanks for info... I will try new install. Hope vestacp dev consider placing version number as part of the install script name - something like: curl -O http://vestacp.com/pub/vst-install_0.9.8-16.sh... As you advised a new update has been published and nothing on the install script naming shows this. Anyway, thanks for input!!!

Re: Installing Previous VestaCP versions
That is not needed at all and should be kept as it is. So many of us have notes and scripts to install and this way everytime you need to install, we need to go and check the version no. Better keep it generic and simple.joeleo wrote:@dpeca, Hope vestacp dev consider placing version number as part of the install script name - something like: curl -O http://vestacp.com/pub/vst-install_0.9.8-16.sh...
Re: Installing Previous VestaCP versions
I couldn't agree more with you XoXiLhJ0mn .
it would be nice to have version number so we know what we are installing and what sort of known bug this version contains.
