Re: Does Vestacp have advantage over other control panel like cPanel?

Two key features that drew me to VestaCP were

* the fact that it does the nginx + apache config out of the box and
* Support for letsencrypt (although a lot of control panels are now offering this, as they should)

Re: Cloud Backups

You should probably consider encrypting them before you upload them to the cloud.

Re: I did a stupid [Urgent] Topic is solved

It seems that in the setup script, if you opt to install Clamav and spamassassin the following config changes are triggered if [ "$spamd" = 'yes' ]; then sed -i "s/#SPAM/SPAM/g" /etc/exim4/exim4.conf.template fi if [ "$clamd" = 'yes' ]; then sed -i "s/#CLAMD/CLAMD/...

Re: Apache not releasing memory

OK, a couple more thoughts. First of all, what is happening to your swap at the time of the attack? And do you have any OOM messages in your /var/log/syslog (or messages or kern.log). If mem and swap fills up completely, then yes, apps can get stuck. Maybe running monit might help you in this case ....

Re: Apache not releasing memory

Another thought ... you might just want to block xmlrpc.php in your .htaccess file.

Re: Apache not releasing memory

I think the default apache configuration is 'prefork'. In which case you might like to play with the following area of your /etc/apache2/apache2.conf file. <IfModule mpm_prefork_module> StartServers 8 MinSpareServers 5 MaxSpareServers 20 ServerLimit 256 MaxClients 200 MaxRequestsPerChild 4000 </IfMo...

Re: Disable nginx Reverse Proxy Topic is solved

If you install vesta with the nginx+apache option then the "default" template (selected when you set up a web domain) is already providing nginx as a reverse proxy in front of apache. For the SSL, you have a couple of options. I use the SSL and Letsencrypt options on the web domain Edit pa...

Re: Backups not working.

To my surprise there actually is a file at /usr/local/vesta/conf/.mysql.localhost ... I hadn't seen it before as its a dot file. Anyway it contains the correct credentials, and they match the ones in mysql.conf The format and contents of the file are the same as on a working server, and the file per...

Re: Backups not working.

Yes, plenty of space. 20Gb free and a backup only takes 2Gb. The backup worked once when I first installed, and then stopped working. I did check the logs in /var/log/vesta and posted the relevant lines in my original post - see backup.log and error.log. In other posts its been suggested that the en...
