Re: Got 10 VestaCP servers exploited
It has been about a month since the 1st post regarding the exploited servers. At a result of the exploits, one patch was issued. We also know some of the code was reviewed by Rack911labs (Patrick) and he noticed several root compromise vulnerabilities (6). I know that many users are running with the...

Re: Restore Process Broken
So I finally had time to actually try this this evening and had interesting results. The first time - worked flawlessly. I directly copied to the /backup directory. Second time, starting again with a fresh install of Ubuntu 16.04, I copied the backup directly into the /home/backup directory and it ...

Re: Restore Process Broken
Not on my install. (Debian)
All of my backups default to the master root /backup directory. Nothing is kept under the /home/backup/

Re: Restore Process Broken
I assume Ubuntu is the same as the Debian version. In that case try placing the backup file here.
cd /
then ls
And look for the "backup" folder. SCP your file there. (Not in the /home/backup directory as the link indicated.)
Give it a try and report back.

Catchall /dev/null
I want to blackhole the catchall address and it is showing /dev/null. However it appears to delete the message but is also bouncing to original sender as an "unroutable address". In my understanding this is less desirable than receiving the mail and silently deleting it without any server response t...

Re: iptables "stoped" on vestacp panel
Just to further document.. My VestaCP is still displaying all rules in the Firewall Dashboard. I can also do all firewall configuration from the dash which seems to be working great. Just the iptables issue (no uptime minutes displayed) persists in the server dash. @pdomain, did you do anything diff...

Re: iptables "stoped" on vestacp panel
I need to clarify my last post, looking closer my iptables is running as the options listed are "configure, stop, or restart". This does imply it is running (otherwise the start option would theoretically be available). However in my case the Uptime always stays at 0 minutes which gives the appearan...

Re: iptables "stoped" on vestacp panel
My iptables have always shown as "stopped" in the vesta server services. A quick check however with Nmap shows the firewall is active and appears to be working fine. Changes I make and save with the firewall options are correctly being implemented even though service is listed as "stopped". From wha...
