It is recommended to reinstall the server, since it leaves broken packages the uninstallation.

Fix the /etc/resolv.conf file.

Sorry for late reply, I got it installing and working after going on github but the issue I am now having is that I get 500 error when trying to {domain name}/phpmyadmin/ I followed the advice here https://github.com/serghey-rodin/vesta/issues/1938#issuecomment-533895464 now i can not access phpmya...

Try disable remi-test and remi-php5* repos, this fix the actually issue.

Try renaming the security and cache plugins, or checking the error_log to resolve PHP incompatibility issues.
