Re: Let's Encrypt no longer working
Also thanks from me! I had that issue just for one domain and still don't understand what happened out of the blue...
But at least it's a fix for the moment. No other domain seemed to be affected. Does anybody has an idea how the problem comes up?
Thanks again, cheers!

Re: Easy Install Wordpress with this script!
I just wanted to point out, that there is a tiny bit of trouble when using Apache 2.4, since the .htaccess calls are deprecated. You get a internal server error (500) and the logs telling you "Invalid command 'Deny'". So I changed the creation process of the .htacess file from line 57-68. old: <File...

Re: nginx failed to restart
I know that I'm exhuming this thread, but I got a similar problem here and the thread popped out right away when I googled the problem. I solved it as shown below, but unfortunately just temporarily. So the problem is that the Nginx restart command seems not to be able to properly kill the server. T...

Re: TUTORIAL: PHP selector for PHP 5.6, 7.0, 7.1, 7.2, 7.3 for Debian and Ubuntu (and optionally directly nginx-PHP-FPM)
Indeed it doesn't modify, but created new nginx templates. The "step forward" you posted on the first page allows direct communication between nginx and php-fpm. To do so, we create new nginx templates... That was what my issue was related to ;). The vesta default templates didn't have the error and...

Re: TUTORIAL: PHP selector for PHP 5.6, 7.0, 7.1, 7.2, 7.3 for Debian and Ubuntu (and optionally directly nginx-PHP-FPM)
There is a very risky vulnerability with default PHP opcache settings for hosting machines! You can include other users cached PHP files without PHP sub-system doing filesystem permission check... By default! It is exploitable with the default install of Vesta C.P., I think because they don't want ...

Re: Roundcube Password Plugin
I just also encountered an error after Dist upgrading from Debian 8 to Debian 9 and wanted to post my solution to point at the change of the hostname inside the config file of the password plugin. The reason why it's important to post the proper hostname into the password/config.inc.php is that it g...

sftp chroot creates own redundant directory in /chroot
Hi i just noticed that it seems like the sftp chroot plugin creates a new redundant directory in "/chroot". This directory I can also find in the config file "/etc/ssh/sshd_config" #Subsystem sftp-server # Set this to 'yes' to enable PAM authentication, account processing, # and session processing. ...

Re: Vesta 0.9.8-17 Letsencrypt: → Error: DNS problem: NXDOMAIN looking up A for ...
For those who don't understand what's written here: The problem with this error message of Letsencrypt is a missing domain A record. VestaCP is trying to generate a SSL certificate for every domain entered in the "Domain Alias" field. If there is a domain set which has no corresponding DNS A record ...

ftp vsftp login incorrect 530 can't login
Hey there, I just wanted to share a problem I had with my ftpdaemon with you and which I didn't find in this forum. My ftp server always throw an error, trying to log in with new created ftp accounts. I'm not sure since when this error occurred, a user of mine pointed me on that issue. But I would s...
