Ok.. so I found the problem. I've copied the old v-add-web-domain-proxy and overwritten the new one.

There was a change at line 45 from:
is_proxy_template_valid
to
is_proxy_template_valid $template

so .. sorry for alarming you guys :)

you have to go to or on CentOS and RHEL edit this file foreach VirtualHost where it says save and after that restart apache2.
