Re: What to do after installation?

Well... Use it, I guess? Create some sites, have fun But besides that, it's always a good idea to disable root or use key authentication instead of password Maybe general server security checkup would be good I have not used the pre-installed version of Vesta from OVH yet, so I don't know what they ...

Re: open_basedir restriction

The /tmp folder should be default be allowed in open_basedir.

But you can check by editing

Code: Select all

/home/user1/conf/web/apache2.conf
AND

Code: Select all

/home/user1/conf/web/sapache2.conf
And then look for your domain and change/set the paths in php_admin_value open_basedir

Re: Remote SQL with VestaCP

Do you want to access a database created by Vesta or do you want to add another MySQL server to Vesta? Both are possible, the database created by Vesta isn't only local connections. You should be able to connect using your servers IP. And if you want to add a remote MySQL server, just follow the Ves...

Re: Roadmap and new features

And for running Nodejs apps, you just install Node as you normally would, and then get pm2 Then you can run Node apps as a service through pm2, it's actually pretty easy. When the Node app is running, be sure to remember to add the port in the firewall through Vesta, and if you want to run the Node ...

Re: Hardening Vesta & Server

I have changed a few default ports, like for SSH. That's not directly for security, but it prevents a lot bots to try access your server. And for SSL you can go with CloudFlare. It's free and provides SSL for all your domains, just add SSL support to your domains in Vesta and create a certificate, a...

Re: Laravel in folder

You can create a new Apache/Web template, call it Laravel, that has the correct configuration for a Laravel app. So the document root would have to point to the /public folder in your Laravel app. Here's my web template for Laravel apps (/usr/local/vesta/data/templates/web/apache2): <VirtualHost %ip...

Re: "Invalid username or password." Error

I got it working in the end I'm not quite sure how and why I just tried EVERYTHING I could find in all the topics regarding this issue And just like that, it worked again The last thing I did was removing everything from the /etc/sudoers.d/admin file, and then added everything back in, and it worked...

Re: "Invalid username or password." Error

I have this same problem, and I've tried the same as @evrend, but it doesn't work for me.
But now, instead of "NO LANGUAGE DEFINED" I get "Invalid username or password."

What to do from here?
