Re: Cron update bug? v-update-sys-vesta-all

This means you installed some app from the repo which is somehow not reachable or is not letting you check thru without authentication. Try to identify which app you installed, or remove it from your apt source list Thanks for the quick reply. Would that be a Vesta plugin? The only thing I've put o...

Re: nginx is broken - custom templates?

Ok I found it. The old templates had: location /vstats/ { alias %home%/%user%/web/%domain%/stats/; include %home%/%user%/conf/web/%domain%.auth* } It seems it didn't like the missing ; on the end of line 3. I fixed it up with: location /vstats/ { alias %home%/%user%/web/%domain%/stats/; include %hom...

nginx is broken - custom templates?

Hi, Since the update, my server has broken :( nginx won't reboot. I get: Jan 02 07:55:39 admin.steampunkjunkies.com systemd[1]: Starting LSB: Stop/start nginx... Jan 02 07:55:39 admin.steampunkjunkies.com nginx[19554]: nginx: [emerg] location "/phpmyadmin" is outside location "/vstats...

Re: Way to limit backup resources?

No problem. Here is my backup script now ( https://pastebin.com/r3eXtRq6 ). You may notice I have commented out a couple of bits: # Compress archive #nice -20 gzip -$BACKUP_GZIP $tmpdir/web/$domain/domain_data.tar and # Compress archive #if [ -e "$tmpdir/mail/$domain/accounts.tar" ]; then ...

Re: Way to limit backup resources?

The main thing I did, was to disable gzip compression - So in the section where you setup the backups (enabling, disabling, remote backup etc), just set the compression to 0. This will make it run faster, I also did some tweaks in the backup script so it does "nice -10" as part of the big q...

Re: More secure generated passwords?

Good idea to do it that way :) For a simpler method, create a file on your server called fix-passwords.sh , with the following code: cp /usr/local/vesta/web/js/pages /usr/local/vesta/web/js/pages-bak cd /usr/local/vesta/web/js/pages sed -i 's/0123456789ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXTZabcdefghiklmnopqrstuv...

Re: How do I add Access-Control-Allow-Origin in vestacp? cors Topic is solved

You shouldn't be editing the nginx.conf file directly!!!! Always edit the templates: /usr/local/vesta/data/templates/web Failing to do that, will just cause your changes to get lost the next time you update the account from the CP (and can even cause fatal errors, as the template parser does not rec...

LE - moving from one server to another

Hi, I'm having fun and games trying to move a site from a non-VestaCP server, to a VestaCP server: https://community.letsencrypt.org/t/moving-from-one-server-to-another-both-with-le/42323 Is there anything I can do? It would appear that the verification is trying to use the acme challenge code from ...

Re: Poor documentation for SFTP chroot

Do you have to purchase a license for EVERY server? I bought a license for my servers, and while it works on the server you put it on, for some reason it seems to disable that license number when you try and use it on another server? Would be nice if it'd told me thats what happens! (I've tried emai...
