Vesta error.log - Error 3
VESTA CP 0.9.8R15 on Ubuntu 14.04 I see the following error in /var/log/vesta/error.log 2016-02-12 03:30:14 v-update-web-domain-stat 'user1' 'domain' [Error 3] This domain used to be under user1 but then I transferred it to user2 with v-change-domain-owner . What is more interesting is that I see th...

[SOLVED] dovecot: No log rotation bug
I have some VESTA CP [ 0.9.8 (amd64)] installations, all on Ubuntu 14.04. Today I noticed that dovecot log files in /var/log/dovecot.log (in every server) have grown quite large. I also noticed that there are no other dovecot.* files in /var/log and that lead me thinking that there is no log rotatio...

Re: nameserver running over TCP can you set
Taken from here.
You can allow this by opening TCP port 53 on Vesta firewall. Add a new firewall rule and set:
Action: ACCEPT
Protocol: TCP
PORT: 53
IP address: 0.0.0.0/0
Comment: DNS

Re: All user can add subdomain of main domain
Cross-posting my reply here... imperio I can understand the need to divide the subdomains but this shouldn't be allowed unconditionally!! For example, if User1 has domain.com and User2 needs to create xxx.domain.com, there SHOULD be a check if User1 allows this subdomain to be created by User2. Thi...

Re: nameserver running over TCP can you set
I was reading an article about allowing TCP on DNS and they seem to have some good points to do so: DNSSEC Creates Larger DNS Responses which are over the 512 bytes limit of UDP IPv6 DNS Lookups May be Larger Than 512 Bytes, which is the limit of UDP Maybe consider this information for the next vers...

Re: Cron & Linux Malware Detect
To answer my original question... The commands are not executed most probably because sudo is asking for the password in the background. Other cron commands (Vesta commands) are executed because of the configuration in /etc/sudoers.d/admin # Created by vesta installer admin ALL=(ALL) ALL admin ALL=N...

[SOLVED] Cron & Linux Malware Detect
I have installed Linux Malware Detect which works fine. I placed a malware file, run the scanner as root maldet -a /home/[user]/web/ and it removed the file + sent notification email. Now I want to setup a cron job in Vesta to run the scanner every hour. I placed the malware file again, logged in to...

Re: File System Quota
After some research I found this , this and this , which made me think it might be a provider issue or OpenVZ configuration, just as skurudo said. I contacted my provider, they did something and told me that it should be OK now. I noticed in /etc/mtab that now the filesystem simfs is mounted with us...
