Re: Do I need the DNS server?
Mmm sorry, afraid I can't help on that. I don't actually run my own nameservers (I do it via Linode, and just point the domain to that). It makes managing it a bit more tricky as you have to do it manually, but I preferred not having to run a bind server (as it just adds one more layer of complexity)

Re: Do I need the DNS server?
Hi, I would do it from the admin CP GUI (didn't have any luck with the command line one) Also, try it with certbot-auto, to see if that works: /usr/local/letsencrypt/certbot-auto certonly --staging --webroot -w /home/admin/web/yoursite.com/public_html -d yoursite.com -d www.yoursite.com (the staging...

Re: Do I need the DNS server?
Hi, Is this a domain you are moving? Have you ever had LetsEncrypt for that domain? What TTL do/did you for the A records? These are all the bits that caught me out. I needed a 5 minute TTL so that when I put the site live, it only took 5 minutes to be able to setup the SSL Another thing that got me...

Re: SFTP and JailKit not working
Hi, How did you get this going? I can login with SCP, but SFTP just breaks (it gets into starting the session in WinSCP, but then closes). If I change the account over to use SCP then it works, but I can navigate around the whole filesystem, even when not logged in as root :/ Any ideas? The weird th...

Re: Couple of minor typos to fix :)
I wouldn't have a clue how to do that I'm afraid =) (I do need to learn how to use GitHub at some point though, but time doesn't permit it ATM)

Couple of minor typos to fix :)
Hi, Nothing big - but thought I'd report them none the less. 1) When looking at crons, there is a typo with "Daily" (spelt wrong, as "Dayly") https://preview.ibb.co/c4s7rQ/2017_04_21_at_09_59_09.jpg 2) There is a missing : after "SMTP Hostname" when working on email accounts: https://image.ibb.co/hg...

Re: DKIM, but without local DNS ?
I found the solution. For anyone else interested:
https://github.com/serghey-rodin/vesta/issues/320
So:
https://github.com/serghey-rodin/vesta/issues/320
So:
Code: Select all

DKIM, but without local DNS ?
Hi, I'm trying to get DKIM working on my server. My understanding, is that if you have it enabled in Mail > Edit > DKIM , it would add the record for you into the local DNS servers? The problem is, I don't use those (I want to make use of my hosts DNS servers). Is there a way I can generate it on th...

Re: LetsEncrypt not working from GUI, CLI, or even letsencrypt-auto
Thanks. That is what I tried (but I get an error when it tries to verify). I managed to get it going, but not sure what I did.SS88 wrote:Code: Select all
