Re: Restore mail only
If you use the web interface to restore a backup, there's a link to "configure restore settings" where you can choose which elements to restore. You can just select your mail domain there. As the web interface just sits on top of the command line scripts, then there must indeed be a way of running i...

Re: Can I Disable the DNS Module?
Just don't use it! You might also want to remove the firewall rule which opens the DNS port (53) to the public. If your nameservers are pointed elsewhere, then that's where DNS lookups will be performed. If you install a new VestaCP, you have the option of not installing Bind, with the --named no op...

Re: Unable to add www as server alias
This issue seems to have been re-introduced in the current version of Vesta (9.8.23). I've logged a bug in Github. Meanwhile, the fix is to edit func/main.sh, line 936 and change aliases=$(echo "$aliases" |grep -v www.$domain |sed -e "/^$/d") to aliases=$(echo "$aliases" |sed -e "/^$/d")

Re: How to cancel a manual backup in Vesta?
All the backups are stored in /backup. ssh into your server and look in there. You can delete files manually from there. I seem to remember that an unfinished backup will leave some sort of temp file in there.

Re: Migrate server
Oh well yes, if you're using the VestaCP for DNS, then you'll have to also change the nameservers to the new server IP. If you're using external DNS, then you'll have to also update the A, CNAME and MX records appropriately. I thought the original question was more about changing the IP address of a...

Re: Migrate server
I haven't tried this, but I think the accepted way to migrate is to set up Vesta on the second server in an identical configuration. Then you backup a user on the first server, copy the backup over to the new server, and then restore it on the new server. For example: v-backup-user admin copy /backu...

Replacing rpaf module with remoteip
I've had a small niggling problem for a few months, but haven't got around to fixing it until now. In the default apache+nginx installation for Ubuntu, the module libapache2-mod-rpaf is installed. This works OK up to a point: it logs the correct remote IP in the server logs in /var/log/apache2/domai...

Re: Ubuntu 18.04 Support ETA
Did we not conclude earlier in this thread, that although there are a couple of error messages during the install about mysql, that in fact after the install, mysql was behaving normally? https://forum.vestacp.com/viewtopic.php?f=41&t=16849&start=20#p72475 There were a few issues about roundcube, ex...

Upgrade Ubuntu 16.04 to 18.04
Hi, There's been a looong discussion on how Ubuntu 18.04 is kinda, sorta supported, but kinda sorta doesn't quite work here: https://forum.vestacp.com/viewtopic.php?f=41&t=16849 I thought I'd split this out into a separate topic. Given that Ubuntu 16 is fine, has anyone tried installing onto Ubunutu...
