Re: MySQL Ownership Incorrect
Friend... you are screwed! you cannot undo that because you don't know user and group ownership of each and every file and directory under "/" You best bet is : 1. Restore from a Snapshot if your VPS has that 2. Create a New fresh Server, then restore data from a Vesta daily Backup set to it and ver...

Re: Vesta fails to install
it is strongly advised to install VestaCP on a clean fresh minimal OS, so I'd recommend you to wipe your VPS and re-install it from the OS template. you can do that easily from your SolusVM control panel.

Re: Logging in as root
if it is just you who operates the server, you can enable bash login to your admin account and then configure SSH keys for it. you will then login via SSH as admin and perform any actions. If this server is shared for other users, for added security you can make a non-root prvilideged user and enabl...

Re: Is it Safe to Update System
You would & you can update/upgrade your OS with yum/apt-get regularly. The Autoupdate or manual update within VestaCP is supposed to update just the VestaCP control panel itself (the best I presume). That is the best about VestaCP... it keeps you free of whatever you do to your server. you are not r...

Re: Can't access phpmyadmin on Debian 8
Stupid me... The Server had 2 IPs assigned, in Ifconfig it shows IP1 and then IP2 but somehow VestaCP selected IP2 instead of IP1.
PhpMyAdmin Works when I Add the IP1
How to Change Default IP for VestaCP ?? so that when I create a website Vesta by default sets IP1 to the site and not IP2 ?

Can't access phpmyadmin on Debian 8
Strange enough-- this happened to me first time in 2 years! On one of my new Debian 8 servers I installed VestaCP 2 times, but i Can't open <IP>/phpmyadmin. I get :Unable to connect, Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at 104.238.221.5. It looks as if Vesta/apache/nginx doesn't even r...

Re: Prevent ClamAV & SpamAssasin on Bigger Servers
Hi imperio, it was not a problem at the first place... it was just a recommendation. Alot of people just install from the generic bash... I won't hurt if you ask them one more question before installation saying "Do you want to install ClamAV & SpamAssasin" (May delay installation). If they say "Y" ...

You can disable clamav at install
I found it later... Didn't knew Advanced install option was there!
Still for an average layman, a prompt at the install screen would be better... I guess! with a warning/info "Clam Update can take unusually long"

Prevent ClamAV & SpamAssasin on Bigger Servers
I know this has been asked many times but I don't think It was ever taken seriously. I'm install 3 new servers and stuck madly at Downloading main.cvd [ 7%] and it is crawling. I'll be wasting over 30 mins for a thing I will remove just after the install. I've already proposed this on the Bugtrack.....
