To install your SSL cert on the vestacp panel: Edit /usr/local/vesta/nginx/conf/nginx.conf nano /usr/local/vesta/nginx/conf/nginx.conf Edit: ssl_certificate /usr/local/vesta/ssl/certificate.crt; ssl_certificate_key /usr/local/vesta/ssl/certificate.key; Then restart vestacp: service vesta restart

I can't imagine you running into any issues not using a subdomain as a hostname though I haven't used it myself.
