Crowd funding development -as long as the code stays open source- sounds great. I have no idea how many people are using VestaCP, but this forum has 1134 members. Probably not even one third wil join in, but it should still be possible to raise a fair amount to support active development on a reason...

This is a prime example of why there's a market for managed hosting. People who know the technology can take care or business, and people like watchopolis can pay for it. There's nothing wrong with Vesta's backup functionality, nobody else reported similar issues. End-user n00b fuckup, I'd say.
