Using vesta with cPanel DNS only servers?
Using vesta with cPanel DNS only servers?
Hello, I currently have 5 cPanel servers and 3 cPanel DNS only servers. I am thinking of using vesta for my next server then if all goes well migrate everyone onto vesta, the only issue I currently have is that I would like vesta to use my cPanel DNS only servers while the transitioning happens so I can use the same nameservers, would anyone know of a way to do this?
Looking forward to anyone’s ideas on how this can be accomplished.
Thanks

The question is relevant! Please help to connect the existing cluster Cpanel DNSOnly.
Вопрос актульный! Пожалуйста помогите подключить имеющийся кластер Cpanel DNSOnly в панель Vesta.

Hi , Hey guys have you tried looking in the documentation ? http://vestacp.com/docs/#how-to-setup-dns-cluser
Re: Using vesta with cPanel DNS only servers?
Hi! for those who really knows how the connection works, and not seen in the documentation....
Who have already connected vesta and cpanel and can intelligently tell.
How is the role of the cluster DNS in Vesta ?
As Vesta fits into the existing cluster ?
https://documentation.cpanel.net/displa ... igurations
The documentation indicates vesta to connect to the server with vesta panel

Port 8083 - Cpanel this port no

Re: Using vesta with cPanel DNS only servers?
The way that cPanel and Vesta do DNS clustering is specific to the hosting panel. You'll find it very difficult to combine the two.
I actually found that once past two hosts, Vesta DNS clustering causes problems with domains being disabled, if you mistakenly use the same user at the other end. It just felt messy to me, and so I went back to the "proper" way of doing slave DNS with bind, being to use axfr zone transfers and having a list of zones to synchronise.
Since using that method I have been able to nicely combine cPanel and Vesta and manually updated bind master servers to the same set of slave dns servers. Since it's all bind and working the way bind intended for decades it works perfectly.
