clamd stops after 2-3 days with 1 GB of ram

Hi!

I've been happily running VestaCP for almost a year and have been starting to get RAM issues recently which kills clamd and prevents it to restart, forcing me to reboot every 2/3 days for emails to work.

I tried to search the forum for tips but didn't find anything. What would you guys suggest me to do?

Thank you.

Fred

Check log files /var/log (clamd and exim). And add swap file.

Hi and thanks.

So yes I am saying it is a RAM issue after checking the log files. I currently have a 256MB swap partition, which get filled pretty quickly I guess. So should I swap my swap partition with a bigger swap file, or can I use both at the same time? Any recommended size?

Thank you

I will suggest adding more swap (>=500MB). I don't know what the best solution is to multiple swap files or one swap.

ok, I just did that and went up to 512MB. Let see how this goes.

Either way thank you very much for your help in the matter and let's hope for the best! ;-)
