Add site without domain for development purposes Topic is solved

We want to add a new website in our cloud VPS through our VestaCP panel.

The problem is that this new website will be dedicated only for testing projects in a sandbox environment so... we won't pay for any domain name server because we just want to access to this site in private.

How should we configure this new site through VestaCP? What domain name should we input when prompted? And... how do we access to the website in our browsers?

You can override any domain requests with your hosts file (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hosts_(file)).

You have to setup a vaild domain name, for example test123.com, then point it to your server inside the host file.

Ok so after doing that we will be able to access the test site through the IP of the server?

We currently have only one IP added in VestaCP and its the one that the server company gave us. When you access it through the browser it redirects to the domain of one of the websites we have online for a customer.

Should we add a new IP address for the test site?
