Upgrade to 8.0.6 - issue with WordPress Functionality

Hi @Imperio

I was totally impressed when I discovered VestaCP is up to date with php 8.06. What made me particularly happy was that VestaCP is still being supported by you. I had become worried about this. I even tried CyberPanel, which I found a great big heavy monster in comparison with my VestaCP that is light and fast thanks to nginx and good setup.

Only problem is WordPress. One of my WordPress sites became extinct due to incompatibility with php 8.0 and when I then checked WordPress it says to be cautious with loading php 8.0 as it may break sites.

I'm very happy with being up to date, but is there any possibility you could provide an additional option of php 7.3 or php 7.4?

I tried to disable php 8.0.6 and then deleted php. Following that I enabled 7.3 and reinstalled php. I then got issues with the mysql package, WP vanished and phpmyadmin complained about missing mysql. I did a million of things, eventually got WP working, but phpmyadmin now having issues with permissions. I tried all kinds of solutions, and finally my system gave up when I tried to rewrite the phpmyadmin conf.

If you could provide us with one additional php to php 8.06 from the top. That will save all of the above headaches. As one lesson I learned is that if one tries to fiddle with the php setup, then something is always broken. VestaCP is so very finely tuned with so many - like hundreds of codes - so to make a major php change on the user end of things will always lead to something breaking.

To be honest, I'd rather let go of that WordPress site, and live with php 8.06 because I like VestaCP. But I think I'm not the only one with issues with my WP installations. If you could help with adding an alternative php 7.3 or 7.4 this will be much appreciated.

Don’t use VestaCP it hasn’t been Maintained for over 2 years there multiple vurnebilities that haven’t been patched yet. The only reason why php 8.06 is available probally due to the OS preference

Thanks for the feedback and warning. I don't quite understand what you mean with php 8.06 availability through OS preference. I had an old Vesta CP and looks like php changed on 4th of May. Through no action on my part. I hoped it meant that the owner was working on VestaCP again. But OK maybe I'm wrong. Still, if you could explain to me how php 8.06 got onto my VestaCP then I'll have a better understanding.
