I would like to point out that I too get this. I simply received an email saying that nginx could not update. I am no linux expert, I simply bought a centos7 VPS with vesta installed. So before people start jumping up and down demanding information you might like to be aware that this is all we are told.

if "i bought a vps with vesta onit" is all, what you know about linux, it would be better to not run such a server by your own. Please don't understand me wrong: I dont want to blame or make you angry. But to run a webserver you need a basic of linux knowledge. In the part of your problem, you just need to run the sysupdates like mehargags adviced.

I think the best way for user without any os knowledge would be a reseller or normal webhosting, based on their requirements. This is my point of view, not related with the vesta team or someone else.

Well I have used reseller hosting up until now but have got fed up with the quality of service or lack of and once you are in with several domains you are deep in it and can't keep moving around. I spent some time looking at my options after my provider simply moved my accounts to various servers due to failures without notice and left me to find out what was going on and how to access my emails. So I decided to move and was very very cautious about who I used. I found that the company that I used to use for domain names was now offering hosting but again shared hosting was not cheap for what I would get, I was limited on the amount of domains and they don't do reseller accounts as such, but they have cheap VPS's which seemed like an attractive option as instead of being promised the earth with a sea of caveats we are clear from the start on what they are providing and it will be so.

but yes my experience of linux is that no one wants to help the new guy which is why I now run windows 10 with no thought of ever touching linux on a desktop again coupled with the fact that engineering and CAD software is not generally available for linux. Unfortunately linux does rule the server world so it's something I need to get into assuming anyone wants to help beyond RTFM. the graphical interface of vesta does provide most of what I need, I can cope without one click installation of wordpress as even I can cope with FTP.

One of the configured repositories failed (Extra Packages for Enterprise Linux 7 - x86_64),
and yum doesn't have enough cached data to continue. At this point the only
safe thing yum can do is fail. There are a few ways to work "fix" this:

1. Contact the upstream for the repository and get them to fix the problem.

2. Reconfigure the baseurl/etc. for the repository, to point to a working
upstream. This is most often useful if you are using a newer
distribution release than is supported by the repository (and the
packages for the previous distribution release still work).

3. Disable the repository, so yum won't use it by default. Yum will then
just ignore the repository until you permanently enable it again or use
--enablerepo for temporary usage:

yum-config-manager --disable epel

4. Configure the failing repository to be skipped, if it is unavailable.
Note that yum will try to contact the repo. when it runs most commands,
so will have to try and fail each time (and thus. yum will be be much
slower). If it is a very temporary problem though, this is often a nice
compromise:

yum-config-manager --save --setopt=epel.skip_if_unavailable=true

Hi!, I'm Omar from Chile and I have been using vesta for almost a year and I love it. The only problem it's that I'm somekind of self learner. Saddly I received the same mail last day and i lost web connection to the administration panel of vesta. I have already run Update and Upgrade, but still the same problem...
