We are happy to announce that Vesta is back under active development as of 25 February 2024. We are working on v1 candidate and expect to engage more with the community over the coming months. We are committed to open source, and we encourage contributors to help us build the future of Vesta.
Create RPM installer from github
Create RPM installer from github
Not sure if this has been asked before, but I could not find anything from a search.
Basically I have a forked version of the github repository, that I have made some changes to that work better for me.
What I would like to know, is how to make an RPM package from the github source, to allow me to install this on a test machine, rather than having to go through and make all the changes manually.
Thanks

Re: Create RPM installer from github
It isn't easy to create an rpm of the source because you need to think about all the upgrade scripts that might run or not. You can take a look at FPM. That is a tool to build packages in RPM, DEB, ... You also need to build a repository.
The easiest way to use your Vesta code is to check out your git repository, and copy the files in bin, func, upd, web and the templates to /usr/local/vesta.
