What is Quota ?

Can anyone tel me about Quota? And what is Quota done in server?

Quota is an optional operating system feature, which allows you to limit the amount of disk space and/or number of files for a specific user or specific group members within a single file system. Most often this is used in time sharing systems where it is desirable to limit the amount of resources that can be used by a single user or group of users. This will prevent one user or group of users from consuming all available disk space.
