We are happy to announce that Vesta is back under active development as of 25 February 2024. We are working on v1 candidate and expect to engage more with the community over the coming months. We are committed to open source, and we encourage contributors to help us build the future of Vesta.
Which Linux distribution uses Vesta developers?
Which Linux distribution uses Vesta developers?
I'm wondering which Linux distribution uses Vesta developers?
I guess it's CentOS, because there is a few bugs on Debian that is not fixed minimum 1 year :)
However, soon I will write detail report about all bugs on Debian, and detail manual how to fix all of them.

Re: Which Linux distribution uses Vesta developers?
I dont know about now a days but they use to build vesta on Centos and then adjust it to work with other os. As for the bugs there are some in Centos too but unless you report them on github or bugs.vestacp.com then the developers are not able to provide you with a fix. Maybe next time make your "Detailed Report" then post it here so someone can actually help you.dpeca wrote:I'm wondering which Linux distribution uses Vesta developers?

Re: Which Linux distribution uses Vesta developers?
I don't need a help, because I fixed that bugs on my servers.
Some bugs are reported on bugs.vestacp.com long time ago, but not fixed.
I will make a detail review, with links to reported bugs on bugs.vestacp.com, and with instructions how to fix them.
Or I will make a pull request on github, I think it's better.

CentOS / Debian / Ubuntudpeca wrote:I'm wondering which Linux distribution uses Vesta developers?
CentOS was first OS for Vesta, next Debian and Ubuntu.dpeca wrote:I guess it's CentOS, because there is a few bugs on Debian that is not fixed minimum 1 year :)
It'll be nice! ^_^dpeca wrote:However, soon I will write detail report about all bugs on Debian, and detail manual how to fix all of them.

Many bugs, "bugs" and ideas and not so much time ;-(dpeca wrote:Some bugs are reported on bugs.vestacp.com long time ago, but not fixed.
Your pulls and reports are welcome! Thanks, man.dpeca wrote:I will make a detail review, with links to reported bugs on bugs.vestacp.com, and with instructions how to fix them. Or I will make a pull request on github, I think it's better.
Re: Which Linux distribution uses Vesta developers?
Github pulls will be accepted soon (skid says about 1-3 days)dpeca wrote:Pull requests are made before one month ;)
Re: Which Linux distribution uses Vesta developers?
No worry, I didn't said that because my pull-requests are not accepted yet, I know they are accepting pull-requests a few days before they maintanance all bugs for next release :)
(and I know they can not accept all pull-requests, of course)
I said that just to update this topic that I did it (made pull-requests), as I promised :)
Glad to see that I can help Vesta developers.
Lets then wait for accepting pull-requests, list of bugs will be then much smaller.
For some bugs I have no time to figure out how to fix them, so I just reported them (for example this).
Generally, I'm doing all that I can to help developers to make Vesta free of bugs on Debian.
I know they focussed on CentOS, so I can help by hunting bugs for Debian :)

We are grateful for any help.
Re: Which Linux distribution uses Vesta developers?
The only bugs i will seen on Debian are the "modified" OS who installs OVH (can't detect lsb_release at first &/or System name/version number).skurudo wrote:dpeca wrote:However, soon I will write detail report about all bugs on Debian, and detail manual how to fix all of them.
Using debian @ 5months and all fine, all OS needs a "custom" config to meet the consumer requirements (CentOS too).
