Use Vesta on my laptop for dev environment?
Hi!
Has any of you tried using Vesta for a local dev environment?
I'm tired of always having to add my custom Apache site configs, enabling them etc.
And in general, my PHP dev environment sucks and I have to do everything manually.
So it would be great to use something like Vesta as dev environment.
I was thinking:
Installing Vesta without FTP, DNS, mail, firewall - So only the webserver and MySQL
Have a great day!

It would help much to know what OS you are using on your laptop first, as the solutions may vary significantly.
Best bet would be to have a small VM running centOS/Debian/ubuntu in it and you install vesta on it, will defer the situation of pkg problems or corruption to your host OS.

Oh yeah, of course
I'm running Ubuntu 16.04
And I have tried with a VM, Vagrant etc. but it slows down my computer SO MUCH, and everything lags.

Advanced Install Settings -> install only needed.peterbrinck wrote: Has any of you tried using Vesta for a local dev environment?

But I don't get about some dev's options, I thinks it's don't supported ;-(

A full desktop oriented Ubuntu install can be a problem for VESTACP. It installs best on a fresh minimal OS without any apache//nginx/mysql/bind installed.peterbrinck wrote:Oh yeah, of course

Well just install LXC https://help.ubuntu.com/lts/serverguide/lxc.html
Create an Ubuntu container and install VestaCP on it... Will be a most perfect solution without dealing with host OS.
You can even duplicate containers or take snapshot to backup your Dev environment.

I'll try that!

Maybe you can use some Virtual machine (Virtualbox?) Or docker?
