in version 0.9.8.16 to make a backup I do not receive email confirmation.
any ideas?

in all versions, till now, you Never Recieve an email when the backup is successfully Completed. However, if there is an error while backing up or infact error on any CRON job, it will be sent to you as email.

You can customize the backup script to "SEND" you email on each run, can't remember the exact location. It was discussed earlier somewhere.

always to a manual backup you receive the confirmation message. not now

Well, I may not have noticed this, since all my servers (Debian 7 & 8 only) do a daily backup automatically I never really go and fire up a manual Backup command from the Web-UI.

But,
For testing I just manually issued a backup task on 2 of my Debian 8 Servers, both Backups ran fine but I NEVER got an email.

Anyhow, I also run a cron (without >dev/null) on all my servers daily "2hrs after" backup command to sync the Backup file to some cloud storage or Backup FTP. Once done, I get a mail with the <user><date>.tar.gz with its file size and I know the backup was done and was also copied offsite to remote storage. Hope that helps.

Yes, I have never received emails from doing manual backups as well, although after running it, it says I will get an email about it.

Anyone know how to turn this on?

I have always received when making manual backup. in ubuntu 14
since upgrade to 0.9.8.16 I did not receive

I logically think there should be an email Sent out when a Manual Backup is completed.This is standard behavior on cPanel too.

May be a bug, I've posted this on bugtracker for the Devs to see.
