Lets Encrypt Auto Renew in V17?
Lets Encrypt Auto Renew in V17?
Hello
Great news about the Addition of the GUI for Lets Encrypt in v17. It does show that good things come to those who wait. I would like to thank everyone here for all of the hard work and time you have spent developing this great control panel :)
I would like to know please does the lets encrypt ssl certificates automatically renew now or do we still have to setup a cron job ourselves?
Thanks in advance for your time and assistance.

Same doubt here!
Is it auto renew? If so, after how many days does it renew?

Re: Lets Encrypt Auto Renew in V17?
Yes, it does auto-renew. There is a cron job that runs on 'admin' everyday that executes the script at /usr/local/vesta/bin/v-update-letsencrypt-ssl renewing expired certificates for all users.

Re: Lets Encrypt Auto Renew in V17?
Can you please tell me where I would find this auto-renew cron job? I added LetsEncrypt to a domain but I don't see it.nitish wrote:Yes, it does auto-renew. Also, if I run v-update-letsencrypt-ssl to test that it works, the SSL date and time don't change. Is that normal?
Thanks for all your great work.
Re: Lets Encrypt Auto Renew in V17?
The cron job is in the main 'admin'. Just go to 'CRON' tab after logging in as admin, you should see it there. It checks for expired certificates on all domains on VestaCP and updates them.
Update: SSL certificates auto renew if they are about to expire in less than 31 days.

Re: Lets Encrypt Auto Renew in V17?
Will the auto renew work if you are hosting your DNS through Cloudflare? My Cloudflare account is set to Strict SSL. I wonder if I will need to turn off Cloudflare in order for the renewal to work 3 months from now
Re: Lets Encrypt Auto Renew in V17?
Do you know how to change it so it will renew the certificate 7 days before the Expiration date ?nitish wrote:The cron job is in the main 'admin'. Just go to 'CRON' tab after logging in as admin, you should see it there. It checks for expired certificates on all domains on VestaCP and updates them.
An SSL certificate will only update with new date and time if it has expired, that is after 3 months after you create a certificate.
Re: Lets Encrypt Auto Renew in V17?
I see the script actually updates the certificate if it is about to expire in less than 31 days. So you do not have to worry, the script renews a month earlier.schiwe wrote: Do you know how to change it so it will renew the certificate 7 days before the Expiration date ?
