High Memory Usage
High Memory Usage
Hey everyone,
I am using Vesta CP to manage my website.
I had 512MB memory and something just ate through it. (its just a small WP site and a mail server too)
Can someone tell me if something awkward is going on? I had to increase Memory to 1280 now and everything is back to normal but I don't want this to happen again as this powers all my employee's emails.
Did I just underestimate how much memory I needed, if so, what is a good amount? Or is something funky going on here?

Re: High Memory Usage
There needs to be specials optimization in MySQL config needed for such low RAM usage or you will keep running out of memory.
If you are not experienced enough yourself, you should use minimum of 2GB RAM VPS to avoid such problems.

Re: High Memory Usage
I got some server config, basic devops chops. Can you point me in a direction?

Re: High Memory Usage
pls research optimize mysql for 512mb.
Re: High Memory Usage
Thank you for all the help.
Re: High Memory Usage
You must have your clamd running. If so, disable it and you will have lots of RAM space.
But I highly suggest keep it running since you host that with emails
2gb is the recommended if you need all vestacp services running
