Some Issues Encountered Installing VestaCP
Hi everyone! Hope you all are fine...
I just installed Vesta on my Vultr VPS and I'd like to say that I love it. However I've got some issues with its working. I would also like to tell that I am a beginner to how web hosting works... Anyhow, let's cut straight to the chase..
What I want?
1. A stable Vesta Hosting setup running 24/7.
2. A WordPress website up and running with a Letsencrypt SSL certificate running at https://prioritystuff.com.
3. A stable email server running 24/7.
4. The email server should be Letsencrypt SSL/TLS capable. I should be able to connect to my mail server (mail.prioritystuff.com) using my email client via ports 993 (IMAP) and 465 (SMTP) ONLY. POP3 should also be disabled.
5. I want plain-text authentication disabled completely (IMAP + SMTP both)
7. Emails should not land in spam folders of recipients.
8. I also want an FTP server running on ftp.prioritystuff.com to be able to upload website content and other files etc.
What I've achieved yet?
Thanks,
Abdullah

What I've achieved yet?
- Installed VestaCP on my Ubuntu 16.04 VPS.
- setup child nameservers according to the directions given in Vesta DOCS
- setup a subdomain mail.prioritystuff.com
- setup DNS records properly for all required stuff
- first of all, I did not select NGINX in the install process, it still got installed and I had to remove it manually.
- Email only works in roundcube... not any email client
- SMTP server does not work.. according to online email testing websites
- replaced the paths in dovecot and exim4 with the letsencrypt certificate paths. still SSL does not work.
- mail goes straight to the spam folders
Thanks,
Abdullah

Re: Some Issues Encountered Installing VestaCP
Will someone at least reply... :/
Re: Some Issues Encountered Installing VestaCP
It seems to be more a configuration issue you've here - so it is hard to help.
First of all, you can add ssl for backend, exim and dovecot using this guide here: viewtopic.php?f=10&t=17353
Then you need to check if you have correct reverse dns for your static ip address, also "mail goes straight to spam" is hard to understand: is this set to sending or receiving emails?
What exactly does not work with using email clients?
It seems that here are typically questions that you can ask a payed support, but for free support you've to share at least more informations. (direct vesta support: https://vestacp.com/support/)
Also please understand that you've running with vesta a own server envroiment, so you should have at least some knowledge in basics of linux, networking and security.
