Hi all,

Do I need a paid domain to use VestaCP properly or will a free domain from for example freenom suffice?

Kind regards,
Ruben

Hi there,

you don't need paid domain, free domain works too.

Yes, you will need a full TLD. These can be purchased from as little as $5

No, you dont need. You can use paid or free domain or even no domain - with access to Vesta via IP.

Ah, alright, thanks! I just bought a cheap .xyz domain for myself but I can't resolve the domain yet (do I need to portforward port 53?)

You should point your domain to your server first.

I did that but the server can't resolve the domain as of yet.
