Hello Sir,

Wanted to know in vista panel how to check a website without changing its name server.
I have hosted a domain www.sonisamaj.co.in and upload its data now how would I check the site without changing its name server. as currently the site is hosted with godaddy.com

There are 2 general approaches and 2 vesta specific

General
1. Add custom record for www.sonisamaj.co.in to your hosts file
2. Use proxy server wich have custom record in hosts file.

Vesta related
1. Create new dns record test.sonisamaj.co and then point it to the new server ip. In vesta add this domain as an alias to existing domain.
2. Create wildcard record *.somedomain.com and point "A" record to the server ip. Then go to Vesta Control Panel open ip tab, edit ip settings and add wildcard domain without star as associated domain. Next time you create domain, it will automaticaly get alias where dots replaces with dashes. Like www-sonisamaj-co-in.somedomain.com.

I have created the record as mentioned above suggestion but on checking it is showing me only pageok
not showing the actual content of the page sonisamaj.co.in

I have upload the site but unable to check it.

It seems like Vesta Control Panel is not installed on a server soni.sonisamaj.co.in
Are you sure ip address for new server is correct?

DNS record soni.sonisamaj.co.in is pointed to 162.243.12.15
Did you spot the difference? Seven is missing in the end.
Change it to 162.243.12.157 and you will get what you want.

I have moified the record now it is showing
It works!

This is the default web page for this server.

The web server software is running but no content has been added, yet.

But not showing the index.php file of the server.

Ranjib, please do not post passwords on this forum. It is not safe.
DNS propagation takes some. Make sure your pc resolve record correctly. Try to ping soni.sonisamaj.co.in and see if it returns correct record. By the way you can check the domain using http://www.hideoxy.com/
