Hello guys.. newbie to VestaCP here :)
Greetings from Sri Lanka.

So, I would like to know, after uploading the Joomla installation files to the vps via FTP, how I could get the installation to start. Normally, when you reach the localhost / or ip address, the installation starts but I tried and nothing comes up. Would like to get your guidance to work this out :)

Hello meshaun,

Please tell us more information.

1. What is the OS on your server?
2. Have you added a domain name with an FTP account?
3. Is the DNS configured correctly? Can you see the default Vesta account page when you type in your domain name?
4. Did you delete/rename the default index.html when you uploaded your Joomla flies?

Thanks.

Hi, i am on freshly installed CentOS 6.5,and freshly installed Vesta CP.
I have tried to install Joomla 3.3.1, but not success.
it seems that installation has successfully finished but stuck at remove installation files page. it could not remove the files.
then i get back to ftp and view the folder of my domain, it seems Joomla DID NOT copy or install the file to that hostname/folder.

i have to delete the folder of installation directory and remove database table. then extract Joomla file again to start installation but no more success, same thing happen again.

pls help!

As b1tg0d said asked, have you added a domain?
Where are you uploading the Joomla installation files to?
It should be in /home/user/web/domain.com/public_html/

Eg, /home/admin/web/myjoomlasite.com/public_html/
