I know this is an old topic, but after following the steps, I still cannot get nginx started. It still shows the old IP address even after I changed it in the conf. file. Any advice? Starting nginx: nginx: [emerg] bind() to 104.131.86.75:80 failed (99: Cannot assign requested address) The old config file has been deleted and the new one has been created to 104.131.54.137.conf still doesnt work.
/etc/nginx/conf.d/your-old-ip.conf
/usr/local/vesta/data/ips/your-old-ip
Search and remove file with your old IP

Re: vestacp change server ip
Today I met the same problem : my server changed IP so I can not open the website. I followed above mentioned steps, but still can not solve it.
Finally I noticed that I also need to modify the DNS file for that domain:

There are also several records of old IP address in that file. We need to replace them with the new IP address./home/admin/conf/dns/<your.domain.com>.db
Re: vestacp change server ip
If somebody else stumbles this thread googling like i did here is the way that worked for me on Vesta 0.9.8-16.
I had only one IP on my old server and 1 IP on a new one.
On a new server:
1) Login to vesta via your browser
2) Go to "IP" page (your-vesta-ip:8083/list/ip/)
3) Click on "apply to selected" and choose "reread IP". Click white arrow to the right (submit).
Done.

Re: vestacp change server ip
If i understood you correctly not all Vesta versions have change-ip script. If so is there a way to update Vesta in order it could have the script?XoXiLhJ0mn wrote:Hi,
By doing so, you simply executed some functions written in the script that is included in the change-ip-script.
Skurudo mentions: Search and remove file with your old IP. This you did not understand. Now, there is a file under the Vesta directory which has the name euqal to ip address. As you did not change it, the re-read-ip did that.
The change-ip script does this as well. By executing the read-ip, you did the missing.
It would be helpful to everyone if the script change-ip into the vesta default scripts.
