Re: thank you for fucking my website vesta
As a user I'm sorry for you. But, you haven't been very smart too. Everybody knows that you also need to store backups OFFSITE. If you would have done that, nothing would be lost.
Anyway, instead of shouting and calling names I highly suggest you to share your issue in a polite way and to help us make this panel better.
Btw, if I restore a backup, it doesn't get deleted. So I don't know what would've caused it to behave as it did in your situation.
* Excuse me for any typos, I'm currently on phone.

bye bye watchopolis ! You will NOT be missed. In facts, none of the non-polite bastards and noobs are missed.
I have months working with this panel without a single issue (the ones I had I fixed myself). No problems and backups are working perfectly (the backups are uploaded automatically to S3 Amazon)

Dear watchopolis,
I have a solution for your problem.
GROW UP and DON´T BLAME OTHERS FOR YOUR ACTS.
This guys are making a great effort that many of us appreciate A LOT.
You obviously did something wrong and deleted your own files, not Vesta.
No user has reported anything like that in any forum.
As drMacFaulty says, take care of important data backing it in some other place or go and do some other activity like singing, painting or play football, because if you don't back up remotely, this is not for you.
Best wishes in starting from ground or your other new activity !

First rule of website building or any hosting is Backup everything.
Have backups of your built sites.
Have regular backups of your blogs and forums.
Have backups of your control panel.
If you have individual site backups then if the control panel backup fails you have the sites to re add indiviually and you have lost nothing other than a bit of time restoring.
It is not the fault of Vestacp but the fault of the person who is using Vestacp.

This is a prime example of why there's a market for managed hosting. People who know the technology can take care or business, and people like watchopolis can pay for it. There's nothing wrong with Vesta's backup functionality, nobody else reported similar issues. End-user n00b fuckup, I'd say.

You're completely right fedekrum (and others). Anyway (@watchopolis), if you use such a panel to serve domains you MUST USE A REDUNDANT DNS (if your registrar doesn't handle this). Which is very easy with this control panel. If you even don't have THAT, then NOTHING must be applied by YOU concerning self-management.fedekrum wrote: As drMacFaulty says, take care of important data backing it in some other place or go and do some other activity like singing, painting or play football, because if you don't back up remotely, this is not for you.
Just added that important perspective which I haven't added in my original post and thought it may be relevant for future 'noobs' as a reference.
I think this topic needs to be closed, to prevent any further name calling, shouting and such (including myself if this keeps going on and on and on...).
