SSH Connection Failed
SSH Connection Failed
I am following the steps to install Vesta as found here. I am stuck on the first step. I type in:
in which xxxxxx is my WAN IP address of my router. It says:
I tried port-forwarding 22 to my computer on my router page but the problem is not fixed.
Edit: On an unrelated note, once I get Vesta installed, how do I run it? Like, what address in the bar in my web browser takes me to Vesta? Thanks! :)
Code: Select all
sudo ssh root@xxxxxx
Code: Select all
ssh: connect to host xxxxxxxx port 22: Connection refused

Re: SSH Connection Failed
This sounds like an issue with the port forward... I would suggest if you are just getting stated to try it on a VPS and remove the possibility of getting such errors for the time being. Try Digital Ocean droplets for $5 you can get a good start.
If you are persisting on going via your ISP, then try their support docs or go back over your config. Make sure the port is forwarding to the correct IP of your server. Also make sure your servers firewall is open via port 22.
To answer your other question - All the details will be provided when you finish the install on what to do next.

Re: SSH Connection Failed
