Ftp upload very slow or with errors.
Ftp upload very slow or with errors.
Hi there! , well the fact is that uploading anything like the website files through the VestaCP's created FTP account is too slow! What I mean is that I'm able to upload some kbytes and after that it stays practically static, no more file uploads just the first 2 or 3 files and after that it stays in 100% file completed but there are a bunch of files waiting and anything more else happens! Maybe is my firewall? I use CSF (Configserver Security & Firewall) I've revised my csf.conf and it seems ok, I also checked /etc/vsftpd/vsftpd.conf and it seems ok, anyone wonders why my ftp is so slow or anyone had the same problem?
PD: The ftp client that I use is Filezilla. :D
Thanks!

Re: Ftp upload very slow or with errors.
I can't see anything strange in the firewall logs, no ftp blocked connections and nothing else... and I am using vsftpd because it's the vestacp's default one and my system is a centos 6.5 which I've already installed in some websites before and used in some different ftp without problems and very smooth and fast... is just now with the recently vestacp installation and his ftp seems having some trouble.. any idea?
Re: Ftp upload very slow or with errors.
Hi, problem solved.
What I did was replacing the vsftpd with proftpd following this instructions: http://vestacp.com/docs/#how-to-replace ... hel-centos and now all the transfers are fast as I expected.

Re: Ftp upload very slow or with errors.
same issue. But resolved by ports config.
The issue is the passive connections are limited by vsftpd.
- Extend the pasv ports range on vsftpd.conf.
- Open on csf TCP_IN ports list.
sudo lfd -r
sudo csf -r
sudo service vsftpd restart

Code: Select all
>> /etc/vsftpd.conf..
pasv_enable=YES
pasv_min_port=30000
pasv_max_port=35000
