Changing CentOS password
Changing CentOS password
Hi,
When you first install VestaCP, it creates a new non-root user for use by Vesta.
My question is, if I change the password of the user that Vesta uses, how do I update the new password in VestaCP so that the panel still works? If I just login to the user and change the password without updating Vesta, then the software will just not work.
Thanks!

Try going
yourdomain.com:8083/edit/user/?user=admin
and put new password here.
Click save.

Re: Changing CentOS password
I can try that but I think that will only change the admin password for the Vesta control panel. I'm talking about the user in CentOS that Vesta uses to access terminal and OS functions. You know, when you install Vesta it creates a new non-root user in your Linux install.sim wrote:Try going

Re: Changing CentOS password
As far as i know admin account is sudoer. There is no other accounts. Root and Admin with sudo privileges.
Admin can use /usr/local/vesta/bin/* functions without the password, all other will require root password.
