A few Questions
I wish there was a demo, before I downloaded and installed this.
So instead I thought I would ask a few questions.
1) Is there a customer control panel? (e.g. in cPanel user of a website hosted with a company can go to http://mysite.com/cpanel)
2) Is there an API for status like to make sure mail,DNS, mysql etc is running.
3) The API seems limiting, meaning it seems that I can only check users, add users, and do that stuff. But what if I wanted to say have the clients PHPMyAdmin access only through a custom cPanel like system on our system.
You see while I think this is a good start, I am not getting the sense that this is really ready for everyday customers. What I would like to see is if someone orders a wordpress hosting service from me, an autoscript creates the account, loads the latest version of Wordpress and sets up the database.
I know this seems like cPanel, but surely it can be done.
The other small issue is you support MySQL (most-likely because your system uses it), but what about MongoDB be great to support that too, as no cpanel like system does at the moment.

Re: A few Questions
Yes, there is one and it's the same as the admin panel, but a little 'stripped-down', the customer can see it's disk space currently in use and the amount of bandwidth it has consumed along with configuration for websites, DNS and downloads of the users' account. Personally I don't bother giving clients access to the panel, because most of my clients don't know what all that stuff means. What is handy, though, is that you as an admin can login to a users' account without knowing the users' password. The control panel listens on port 8083 on any domain pointing to your server (e.g. domain.com:8083).russellharrower wrote:1) Is there a customer control panel? Haven't checked that out yet, but from the files I spotted in the bin folder I'd say no (but that could be wrong).russellharrower wrote:2) Is there an API for status like to make sure mail,DNS, mysql etc is running.
Do you mean only access PHPMyAdmin through the panel and then automatically log that user in at PHPMyAdmin? The 'only access PHPMyAdmin from CP' can be realized by using a few rewrites (there's a guide somewhere on this forum for securing PHPMyAdmin). I'm currently working on an auto-login system if the user clicks on the link (single sign-on), but that is officially unsupported AFAIK.russellharrower wrote:3) The API seems limiting, meaning it seems that I can only check users, add users, and do that stuff. There is support for PostgreSQL :) For AFAIK, no support for MongoDB yet.russellharrower wrote:The other small issue is you support MySQL (most-likely because your system uses it), but what about MongoDB be great to support that too, as no cpanel like system does at the moment.
Hope this helps. If you want to get a feel of the customer side, I can make a temporary account for you if you wish, so you can have a look around. You can PM me your first and last name and your e-mail address for that.
