Catastrophic Vesta Failure after Apt-get update
Catastrophic Vesta Failure after Apt-get update
Hello,
Yesterday I did a apt-get update / upgrade.
It updated mysql package and now I noticed all my wordpress websites (I host wordpress only) are returning default installation screen.
Anyone experienced the same ?

Re: Catastrophic Vesta Failure after Apt-get update
DONT UPDATE MYSQL OR YOU VESTA WILL FAIL
I am running Debian 7 64 bit
Re: Catastrophic Vesta Failure after Apt-get update
Error 24 and "can't open file" usually mean that there are too many files open (the open file limit may be set too low). Have you tried adding the following to /etc/my.cnf:cagatay wrote:

Code: Select all
[mysqld]
open_files_limit = 100000
Re: Catastrophic Vesta Failure after Apt-get update
This is what I am getting when trying to restart mysql
Re: Catastrophic Vesta Failure after Apt-get update
Can you check the open file limit?
Should give you a load of readouts. Please look for the line that starts with "open files" and post here.
Code: Select all
sudo -u mysql bash
ulimit -a
Re: Catastrophic Vesta Failure after Apt-get update
I posted the last message before I read your message, please hold now I am dealing with apache. Your solution stopped mysql errors, but because I am on a new server I have to figure out a way starting apache (ip address change)mcsteevie wrote:Can you check the open file limit?

Make sure you restart mysql after the change.Code: Select all
[mysqld] open_files_limit = 100000
Thank you very much, it solved the problem.
