Vesta vs Sentora
Hi,
I can't decide between Sentora and Vesta. I need individual-Domain SSL support, SSL support for the mailserver, multiple mail accounts & aliases, domain-aliases (for either mail and webserver) and the possibility that customers can log in and manage their own mail & domain (which isn't that important).
Has anyone got experience with those 2 CP?
Thanks! :)
Flo

Re: Vesta vs Sentora
Vesta is better and supports Apache & NGINX
Sentora is very young and poor in term of functionalities
don't hesitate a second : choose vesta CP !!!!

Re: Vesta vs Sentora
Yes, Sentora is still very young and not as featured as Vesta. I wouldn't advise using it for anything other than testing right now. I've been using Vesta for almost 2 years and I host several clients, never had a problem yet. I highly recommend Vesta and CSF (Config Server Firewall). Together they have given me years of pain free hosting.

Vesta CP is better,
Because i just switched from Sentora to VestaCP.

Re: Vesta vs Sentora
Are you serious?
Do you still prefer Vesta than Sentora?
I admit Vesta works good, but don't know why you tell is less featured.
Can u list some missing features? Would be good to know.

I too made the switch from Sentora. I'll list some reasons for me:erm3nda wrote:Are you serious?

1. Sentora is based on the old Zpanel (with all the security flaws and insecurites as Zpanel)
2. If you look through the forums at sentora, you'll find tons of openbase_dir issues with Suhosin
3. Crons work maybe 10% of the time (mainly the only cron to run is the daemon built in)
4. Some of the Coders/Admins/Development team don't know why things are breaking (you'll find "I'll have to test this" coming from the admins/coders/development team)
5. The most knowledgable person of sentora has left it.
6. Domains and DNS take forever to propogate
7. One of the Main Developers is working on too many projects plus answering in the forums.
8. SSL isn't as supported as it is in Vesta (they have old mods from Zpanel and W.I.P.'s that aren't complete and don't quite work fully).
Just IMO
Re: Vesta vs Sentora
Same here. In ZPanel you also don´t have real users, so this is a big security hole. If you also edit the code, it also doesn´t look clean. The interface is nice because it´s using bootstrap but that´s all... but that´s not useful if your server is hacked every 4 months. Go for Vesta.

Re: Vesta vs Sentora
No question here, Vesta is a million steps in from of Sentora. Its like comparing a Ferrari with a Fiat.
Re: Vesta vs Sentora
I was quite impressed with the Sentora new branding, and it's looking. Had no problem with it, but, to be fair, I don't host clients.
Now I'm looking to open a new website and did research again to decide wich panel should I install this time.
For me, the MOST important thing is the difficulty of importing/exporting/restoring server, aka backups.
Thank you for list things where is lacking. I'll choose this time VestaCP, but also give a try to Ajenti again :)
