FTP backups are creating empty zip files

I have no idea why but when I add a backup FTP server for my nodes they all create the zip on the server, but it is left empty, both on a fresh FTP only backup server, and also on a backup server running vestacp with a FTP account. Has anyone else had this issue?

Update with the backup process. It made the zip but did not place anything in it on the ftp server.

Where you able to find the cause of this problem?

Im having the same issue but only on ubuntu 14.04.

configure in your firewall to accept the range of passive ports that the ftp server is using(TCP). that solves this problem.
